EFS take action!

*

EFS pilots do not fly at maximum speed during the cruise phase of the flight on EFS European operations.

*

EFS pilots restrict use of engines and auxiliary power units during ground operations.

*

EFS pilots use reduced take-off power where there are no flight safety considerations.

*

EFS pilots do not use thrust reversers unless there are flight safety considerations.

*

Wherever airport departure procedures permit, EFS pilots accelerate as soon as possible after take-off so that flaps may be retracted earlier resulting in lower air resistance and fuel burn.

*

Throughout the flight, our sophisticated flight management systems enable altitude and airspeed to remain optimally adjusted to current weight, winds and temperatures.

*

Prior to a flight, our flight operations planning system will analyse available data – the latest weather, traffic density, en-route winds, chosen route and payload details – and calculate the fuel required as accurately as possible thereby assisting EFS pilots to decide on the optimal fuel load also cutting fuel burn.

*

In the case of EFS long distance flights, the state of the art flight management and auto-throttle systems on our Gulfstream aircraft guarantee optimal operating altitudes throughout the entire flight further reducing fuel consumption, cutting fuel burn and gas emissions.
